Status: Vagrant/migrant, possible resident.

Distribution and Abundance: Rare.

Flight Period: Recorded locally between June and November.

Record: 22.ix.2010, Wellingborough (D. Larkin); 02.x.2013, Pitsford Reservoir (Furfaro); 01.x.2014, Northampton (Gill).

Observations: The first VC32 record of this moth was taken in one of the Pitsford Reservoir traps. As with other moths not normally occurring in the county which have been trapped in this locality the origin of the moth is unclear, but it could have been introduced on plants supplied to a garden centre nearby. The image over is of the second county record (Wellingborough) and apart from some minor fringing shows that it is in good condition. Since these first two records, there have now been multiple records from Pitsford Reservoir over the years (at the time of writing, on four occasions since 2003), with two individuals noted on 13.x.2023. This does strongly suggest local breeding.
