ABH: 63.058
Status: Unknown
Distribution/Abundance:
Rare/Migrant
Primary Habitat:
On the Continent: Chalky grassland
Wingspan: 25-31mm
Flight Period: June
- August
Observations: The
larvae feed on the seedheads of various Cruciferous plants. The first
record of this species in VC32 relates to one at the turn of the 20th
Century (approx. 1902), with very little in the way of detail. However, a second county record came as a single moth to a garden light trap in Oundle (TL08) during a period of migration activity on 21.vi.2026 - pictured opposite/below. Distribution in the
UK is mostly South-east, but with scattered inland records. It may be temporarily resident in certain areas, but demonstrates evidence of migratory behaviour.
