Distribution/Abundance:  Rare

Primary Habitat:  Gardens, waste ground

Wingspan:  9mm

Flight Period:  June - July

Observations:  Originally recorded in the Channel Islands, the species has gradually spread through southern counties of the UK to the Midlands. Larvae mine the leaves of Pellitory-of-the-Wall, and may be found in this stage throughout the year. Adults attend light traps sparingly.

Confusion Species:  Cosmopterix scribaiella & Cosmopterix orichalcea (not known in VC32)
