Observations: First recorded in the UK in 2014, the species is now fairly widespread, albeit scattered, in the east and south, including some neighbouring counties. This
moth is associated with Fig, where
the larvae feed on the upper surfaces of the leaves, resulting in
tell-tale "skeletonisation" pattern, similar to that its congeners. Larvae then create an often sizeable leaf-fold on a leaf away from larval feeding areas, in which it pupates. The first county record was of a larva in the process of creating its pupal spinning, found on a sizeable Hop tree on the Courtenhall Estate, 8th June 2026.
Confusion Species: Apple Leaf Skelletoniser Choreutis pariana
