Distribution/Abundance:  Rare

Primary Habitat:  Woodland, Carr

Wingspan:  7-8mm

Flight Period:  Bivoltine: May, July-August

Observations: A nationally scarce species. The larvae mine the leaves of White and Grey Poplar, with adults attending light traps. Mines can be quite indistinct when viewed from the upper surface, and may be found in June and again in September to October.

Confusion Species:  Phyllonorycter sagitella (not recorded in VC32)
