Distribution/Abundance:  Rare

Primary Habitat:  Woodland, hedgerows

Wingspan:  7-8mm

Flight Period:  June-July

Observations:  The larvae may be found by searching for the small but distinctive mine on Buckthorn and Alder Buckthorn from early August and into the autumn. The species has a preference for larval foodplants on chalk, which expalins the general dearth of records in VC32. The adults may be found flying around the foodplant in the evenings.
